Chapter 2 and StarClan

Nightkit frowned. "But why? Why can't I go on patrol?" "Nightkit! That is no way to talk to a warrior! Especially the deputy!" Mosstalon scolded. "That's all right. I'm used to eager kits. Listen, you're just a kit, once you become an apprentice, you can come on patrol all the time." Ashfoot, WindClan's deputy, said. "Say, why don't you go help out Barkface?" "Okay!" Nightkit said eagerly, and bounded off towards the medicine cat's den. Once he arrived, he saw Barkface lying down, with his paws over his muzzle. "Wake up, Barkface!" Nightkit yelled. "Mrrrrrrow! I wasn't sleeping. I was communicating with StarClan ." "StarClan?" Nightkit asked. "Yes, StarClan are our Warrior ancestors. They watch over us, and protect us." Barkface replied. "Wow! That's cool!" Nightkit exclaimed, mystified. "Yes. Well, I'd better get back to work." He turned to leave, but Nightkit scampered through his legs, saying, "but Ashfoot said I could help you!" "Very well. You can go get some coltsfoot. We're running low." Barkface said. "Okay!" He scampered off, bragging, "I get to help the cat who helps cats and gets help from other cats who help all the cats who used to be cats who..." "Whoa! Take it easy there, son!" Rockheart called. "Uh huh..." he mumbled, not listening.

Chapter 1 and info about the warrior naming system.

THE FOLLOWING TAKES PLACE BEFORE THE EVENTS OF WARRIORS: NEW PHROPECY BOOK 6: SUNSET. THE CHARACTERS ROCKHEART, MOSSTALON, AND THEIR KITS ARE NOT IN THE STORY. ALL OTHER CATS ARE.
"Come on! You can do it!" Rockheart called. "Quiet! No need to give her any more pressure!" Barkface, WindClan's medicine cat, scolded. Mosstalon, the she-cat attracting all this attention moaned in pain, then sighed. "They're here! Our kits are here!" Rockheart yelled. "Yes. Erm... congratulations...?" said Barkface carefully. There were two kits, who were now being fed by their mother. Rockheart looked at them. One was a dark gray tom with a white underside and paws, with a short tail that had four black rings around the end, and the dark brown eyes of his mother. He would be Nightkit. The other was a light brown she-cat with a darker flank and tail. She had brown spots around her neck and upper torso. Her paws had slightly shorter fur then the rest of her, which was already short to begin with. She had the icy blue eyes of her father. She would be Spottedkit. After six moons, (the time it takes to get a full/new moon) they would become apprentices. When they do, they drop the ending, "kit" and become Nightpaw and Spottedpaw. After finishing their long training, they would recieve their Warrior names, which are the same begginings, but different endings. These are decided by the clan leader, who, in WindClan, is currently Onestar. becoming the leader means, once again, changing your name to (First Name)star. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. These are just newborn kits, after all...

An intro

This is a tribute to the book series by Erin Hunter. If you think this is good or interesting, check out her books at www.WarriorCats.com. Anyway, this story sets you in the paws of a cat. But not just any ordinary house cat. These cats live in the wild, and have formed Clans to keep order and peace. But peace is not easy. For when you have territory, someone always wants to take it. That leads to war. And war never changes...
